About

Robynne Whitaker and Jeffrey Nagel are the NW Real Estate Group at John L. Scott. We joined forces in 2017 to provide even better service to our clients. We get to bring you all the information and good advice we can, connect you with appropriate professionals during the process (title agents, lenders, home inspectors, etc.), and handle the myriad details behind the scenes so everything goes smoothly. If there are bumps in the road, we help smooth them out. When there are decisions to be made, we give you all the information and professional experience you need so you can make the best decision for you.

What is it like to work with us?

Our clients tell us it’s fantastic, and they make a point of telling their friends and family about us. We understand that outstanding customer service is what sets us apart as professionals. We deliver:

  • Great communication – you will absolutely know what you need to know, when you need to know it, shared in a positive and professional manner.
  • Confidentiality – your business is just that – your business. As your brokers, we safeguard your private information, be it financial, medical, or personal.
  • Honesty – you get the full, unvarnished truth from us, coupled with great advice. That’s important when making a decision!
  • Full disclosure – If we come across something that might be important to you, or even change your thoughts about buying or selling, we will tell you immediately.
  • Patience – we’re not going to push or pressure you to make a decision. In our experience, these things unfold at their own pace, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. We are comfortable with the rush, and the lull, of the process.
  • Humor – really! Buying or selling a house can be stressful. We enjoy helping clients have fun through the process and always, always looking on the positive side. We are inverse paranoids, meaning we believe the universe is conspiring to do you good!

Robynne Whitaker grew up outside of Boston and moved to the Bay Area after graduate school. She spent almost a decade living in San Francisco and on the peninsula, until traffic got the better of her and she moved to Ashland. Twenty years later, Ashland has become home. The Boston accent is gone, her daughters graduated from Ashland High School, and she has put down roots. Over the years Robynne has been very active in the community. She volunteered in the schools, led Brownie and Girl Scout troops, and was secretary and treasurer of Ballet Rogue. She loves animals, so it’s no surprise that she’s been involved with SNYP (Spay/Neuter Your Pet) and SoHumane, where she was board president in 2016. <Equestrian Center thingie>. Although her girls are no longer in the local schools, Robynne still volunteers as a lunch buddy every year.

  • Secret vice: doting on her two Boston terriers: Wally (most adorable dog on the planet, maybe even the galaxy) and Sonora.

Jeffrey Nagel grew up on a farm in Sonoma, California, where his family still lives and grows wine grapes. After college in Davis and San Francisco, he spent two decades as a teacher and school administrator in Northern California, finding time in his schedule to volunteer as a scoutmaster in several different Boy Scout troops (both his sons are Eagle scouts). While running a gifted and talented program, Jeffrey organized a summer program to bring kids to Ashland for the plays and fell in love with the town. When he first moved to Oregon, Jeffrey remodeled at 1914 farm house, including drawing the plans, getting permits, hiring subcontractors, jacking it up and putting a foundation under it, and adding a 1000 sq’ addition. He knows a little about sweat equity! Jeffrey is passionate about homes, construction, and putting YOU in the right place.

Did We Mention that we have a lot of fun? Sure, we are smart and serious and fierce negotiators, know the local market like the back of our hand, and always go the extra mile for our clients, but life is too short not to have a great time! Ask us about Pink Unicorns sometime if you want a funny story (Pink Unicorn = a fantasy property with unrealistic price and terms. It’s also the two college girls we saw in the airport when returning from a conference. They were wearing fuzzy pink unicorn costumes, complete with hoods and horns. Seriously – you can’t make this stuff up!)
